A steady diet of high-fat/simple carb fast foods is damaging to body, mind and soul. Human evolution did not anticipate deep-fried potato pieces! – likewise cookies, candy, chips, ice cream and soda. Calories not burned as fuel and not eliminated are stored as fat. It’s that simple. That fat harms your immune system and brain function – and, not least, your self-esteem! What’s a quick fix when you wake up feeling poorly about yourself because you are overweight and lethargic? Unfortunately it’s more of the same, and a viscous cycle ensues: comfort food and or/drugs and alcohol. Changing dietary habits is difficult, especially if you grew up with a fast-food diet – but the dividend in health, mental acuity and self-esteem is priceless.
